The left is trying to incite a new wave of riots in a replay of 2020.
President Trump had a plan.
And Donald Trump ordered Tom Homan on this emergency mission to Minnesota.
President Trump announces he was dispatching Border Czar Tom Homan to Minneapolis to take over ICE operations.
“I am sending Tom Homan to Minnesota tonight. He has not been involved in that area, but knows and likes many of the people there. Tom is tough but fair and will report directly to me. Separately, a major investigation is going on with respect to the massive 20 Billion Dollar, plus, Welfare Fraud that has taken place in Minnesota, and is at least partially responsible for the violent, organized protests going on in the streets,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
Trump’s decision came on the heels of Democrats and the fake news media whipping up the left in a frenzy with a phony narrative about ICE agents murdering innocent Americans just exercising their First Amendment right to protest.
The flash point was a Border Patrol agent fatally shooting a leftist agitator armed with a 9MM handgun who violently resisted arrest after he physically confronted agents in the middle of an arrest.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem oversaw ICE operations MInneapolis.
Noem welcomed Homan’s involvement.
“I have worked closely with Tom over the last year, and he has been a major asset to our team— his experience and insight will help us in our wide-scale fraud investigations, which have robbed Americans, and will help us to remove even more public safety threats and violent criminal illegal aliens from the streets of Minneapolis. We continue to call on the leadership in Minnesota to allow for state and local partnership in our public safety mission,” Noem wrote on X.
But this looked like a face-saving effort on Noem’s part.
Trump sending Homan to Minneapolis and revealing that Homan reported directly to him meant Trump sidelined Noem.
The President benched Noem and elevated Homan following complaints within Homeland Security about how Noem managed the fallout of the shooting in Minneapolis, where she claimed the armed man wanted to kill law enforcement.
Fox News Channel’s Bill Melugin reported that his “sources say this messaging from DHS officials has been catastrophic from a PR and morale perspective, as it is eroding trust and credibility – comparing it to when Democrats falsely claimed the border was closed or that Haitians were being whipped at the border.”
“Some of these sources have described DHS’ response to the shooting as “a case study on how not to do crisis PR”, one said they are so “fed up” that they wish they could retire, another said “DHS is making the situation worse”, and another added that “DHS is wrong” and “we are losing this war, we are losing the base and the narrative,” Melugin added.
Melugin went on to explain that the sources he spoke with supported mass deportations, but believed that Noem bungled the optics of carrying out mass deportations in a Democrat-run sanctuary city.
“I’ve talked to more than half a dozen federal sources involved in immigration enforcement, including several in senior positions, who all tell me they have grown increasingly uneasy & frustrated w/ some of the claims & narratives DHS pushed in the aftermath of the shooting,” Melugin continued.
Establishment RINOs are jumping ship.
Democrats and the media smell blood in the water.
And the fate of President Trump’s mass deportation agenda hangs in the balance.
