Fox News Channel is President Trump’s go-to cable news outlet.
But Trump wasn’t counting on hearing this message.
And a Fox News veteran just went on the air and sent Trump this terrifying warning.
Jonny Jones is a decorated combat veteran who lost both his legs in 2010 while serving in Afghanistan.
Jones also co-hosted Fox & Friends with Secretary of War Pete Hegseth,
The two men know the cost of deploying troops into combat, as both served in the endless Middle East wars started in the wake of 9/11.
As President Trump is deliberating over deploying ground forces into Iran, Jones used his Fox News platform to send a warning to the President.
“I’m personally very torn on this. I sat beside Pete Hegseth for years on the couch on Fox & Friends. I had a lot of conversations with him before he was confirmed as Secretary of War. I know what’s in his heart and in his experience,” Jones began.
Jones admitted Trump campaigned on a “no new wars” platform, but Jones argued reality got in the way.
“I’ve also watched President Trump for more than a decade, who’s said ‘no new wars’, ‘no forever wars’ and backed that up. The track record is there. I don’t think he’s changed, I don’t think he’s owned, Netanyahu. I do think there are complexities,” Jones added.
Jones felt it was his duty to speak from his personal experience of service to warn the President not to make the mistakes of the regime change wars he fought in.
“I am going to say this: President Trump, Pete Hegseth, General Caine, and the rest of the generals: if you send our men and women into that country to kill our bad guys, to spill their blood because they deserve it, I’m going to have to agree with you on it,” Jones continued.
Jones begged President Trump to avoid regime change wars for nation-building.
“Just please do this: Don’t nation-build. Don’t win hearts and minds. Don’t spread democracy. Spill the blood without our hands tied and without a PR campaign, and get the hell out of there. That’s all we have tolerance for. That’s all that will work,” Jones declared.
Jones said America lost the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan because politicians made open-ended commitments to forever wars that drained domestic political support, forcing America to leave both countries in humiliation.
“We won every battle in Iraq and Afghanistan – but we lost the war because our politicians don’t have a spine. Don’t be those people,” Jones concluded.
