Former Congressman and gubernatorial candidate Eric Swalwell’s career is in ruins.

A sex scandal took down Swalwell.

And the number of women coming forward about Eric Swalwell shocked even the person who started it.

As Swamp Digest reports:

Democrat Congressman Eric Swalwell of California burst onto the scene in 2017 and 2018 as one of the mouthpieces of the Russia collusion hoax.

Swalwell never strayed far from an MSNBC or CNN camera to spout lies about President Trump and Russia.

Nancy Pelosi then picked Swalwell to serve as one of the impeachment managers in the January 6 impeachment hoax.

Swalwell’s career was building towards the moment when he sought higher office.

When Swalwell entered the California gubernatorial election, he instantly shot to frontrunner status to succeed Gavin Newsom.

But now Swalwell’s campaign is crumbling under the weight of allegations of sexual harassment and inappropriate touching brought against Swalwell by former female staffers.

Cheyenne Hunt, executive director of Gen-Z for Change and former Congressional candidate, broke the bombshell story in a thread on X.

Hunt claimed she felt compelled to act after a friend came to her with allegations against Swalwell.

“I got involved because the first victim who approached me is a close friend, but when I saw that there were others whose experiences fit the same pattern of manipulation and abuse of power, I knew I couldn’t stay silent,” Hunt wrote.

Hunt then listed some of the alleged harassment of female staffers that Swalwell was accused of.

“Targeting employees, interns, and fans. Acting as a mentor just to exploit that power. DMs and Snapchat messages. Allegations ranging from uncomfortable comments to potentially criminal conduct,” Hunt added.

Hunt went on to say that speaking out against Swalwell opened the floodgates for other former female staffers to come forward with their stories.

“The number of credible women who have come forward since I posted my video is pretty shocking, and connecting them with the investigative reporting teams who have been working on breaking this for years has greatly expedited this process. I am confident this story will break soon,” Hunt continued.

Hunt emphasized that she was an attorney with a deep understanding of defamation law, so she knew the consequences for smearing Swalwell with false allegations, and that his willingness to go public should carry weight.

“One more key point I want to share: I am an attorney. I am well aware of the risk I am taking by speaking out publicly and the fact that if I were to lie about a powerful public figure on a platform of my size, I could easily be subject to a defamation lawsuit,” Hunt concluded.

Swalwell’s campaign put out a statement denying the allegations.

“This false, outrageous rumor is being spread 27 days before an election begins by flailing opponents who have sadly teamed up with MAGA conspiracy theorists because they know Eric Swalwell is the frontrunner in this race,” a statement from a Swalwell campaign spokesperson to the Daily Caller read.

But a plugged-in Democrat strategist named Bhavik Lathia posted on social media that the allegations brought forth by Hunt were the tip of the iceberg.

“Hey, I just got off the phone with a trusted friend. This is real. Take it seriously. Eric Swallwell cannot be our nominee. There is going to be a lot more coming out soon. Lathia cryptically posted on X. ” can’t say more right now, but stay tuned.”
