Polls show Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a serious contender for the Democratic Party nomination for President in 2028.

Every move she makes is now scrutinized through that lens.

And AOC just underwent one medical procedure that has massive 2028 implications.

In a video posted to social media, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez announced she was going to start freezing her eggs.

“Usually I keep my private life quite private, but I have made the decision to start freezing my eggs,” Ocasio-Cortez stated before injecting herself.

“This is just not something that men deal with,” Ocasio-Cortez added.

Ocasio-Cortez claimed this decision empowered her to run for office and start a family on her own terms.

“Men run for office, or frankly, they interview for jobs and people don’t think in the back of their mind, ‘OK this guy’s running for office, how old is he? Oh, well, is he gonna wanna start a family?’” Ocasio-Cortez continued,

“This is a choice I am making to feel more in control of my life,” Ocasio-Cortez concluded.

Speculation immediately roared to life in political circles that Ocasio-Cortez made this move with 2028 in mind 

ABC’s Jonathan Karl put the questions about running for President and freezing her eggs in a softball interview on his “This Week” show.

“I want to…get to your future. I’m sure you saw the poll in New Hampshire that had you as the leading candidate, leading choice, for Democrats. First of all, are you going to run for president?” Kale said, citing a Granite State poll that showed Ocasio-Cortez in first place.

AOC wasn’t dropping any hints on that front.

“I mean, I’m focused on winning the midterms. I’m running for Congress right now,” AOC replied.

“But I mean, do you see this as something — I mean, I know you said you’re open to it. Is it a realistic possibility for you?” Karl followed up.

Ocasio-Cortez’s answer revealed she is seriously considering the possibility,

“Well, I haven’t ruled out the possibility,” Ocasio-Cortez responded. “And I’m very humbled by the tremendous amount of support out there. I think that we have a responsibility to remain focused on the midterms and not on our individual aspirations or plans.”

Karl pressed Ocasio-Cortez about her other 2028 option, challenging Chuck Schumer in a primary.

“And running for Senate against Chuck Schumer?” Karl wondered. “Is that also possible?”

All options are on the table.

“I mean, I think that anything is possible at this juncture,” Ocasio-Cortez shot back.

Karl then asked Ocasio-Cortez about freezing her eggs.

“All right. And then, before you go, you did have a personal announcement that you made — it was interesting to see you kind of open up on an Instagram live, I believe it was,” Karl stated.

Ocasio-Cortez did little to dissuade anyone from the idea she made this move with running for President in mind when she framed the decision as an anti-Trump protest move.

“So I have decided to start the process of freezing my eggs,” Ocasio-Cortez declared. “And in this political environment where this administration is denying reproductive care to women across the country, from abortion rights to the ability to carry out a healthy pregnancy. Uh, I think it’s important for us as leaders to have these conversations, conversations, and share these processes, especially for working women across the country, and normalize them.”

The success of Democratic Socialists in winning House, Senate, and Gubernatorial primaries shows the energy and momentum inside the party resides with the socialist wing that Ocasio-Cortez hails from.

With Bernie Sanders not running in 2028, that lane is wide open for someone to grab hold of it.
