House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries went on the warpath.
The stakes for the midterm election are clear.
And Trump had to buckle up after Hakeem Jeffries went on camera and made one sick promise.
Democrats Meltdown Over Jeffries Meeting with Jared Kushner
The New York Times set off a political earthquake on the left after it reported that Jeffries secretly met with Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner to map areas of “common ground” if Democrats win control of the House in November.
Jeffries faced accusations of being a Trump appeaser and collaborator, with some even calling for Democrats to dump him from leadership.
It didn’t take long for Jeffries to fly into damage control mode with a video posted to social media where Jeffries promised total war on the Trump administration if Democrats win power in the midterms.
“No one from the Trump Cartel is getting a pass,” Jeffries stated.
Jeffries then claimed that the meeting was Kushner’s idea.
“He asked for a meeting, and I took it,” Jeffries added, “to discuss the affordability crisis that exists — that is not a hoax.”
But Jeffries ranted that Democrats would launch endless witch hunts against the Trump administration if they controlled the majority in the House of Representatives.
“At the same period of time — and I shouldn’t have to say it, but I am — no one is going to get a pass. We are gonna hold every single member of the Trump cartel accountable, beginning on day one. If you’re stealing from the American people, shortchanging the American people, or screwing over the American people, you’re going to be held accountable,” Jeffries.
Impeachments and Criminal Prosecutions on Tap
Jeffries then implied that the number one goal of the Democrat majority was impeachment and paving the way for criminal prosecutions of Trump and other cabinet officials should Democrats win the Presidency in 2028.
“We’re gonna follow the facts, apply the law, and be guided by the Constitution, beginning on day one, and hold the crooks accountable,” Jeffries added.
“And we’ve delivered results,” he said. “Pam Bondi is gone. Kristi Noem is gone. And we’re just getting started,” Jeffries continued.
Jeffries knows this platform of scorched-earth lawfare against Trump is unpopular and turns off voters; Trump won in 2024 in part because voters revolted against the lawsuits and indictments Democratic prosecutors hit Trump with, so Jeffries.
So Jeffries closed his rant by trying to make it seem as though Democrats cared about voters’ concerns about affordability.
“The affordability crisis in this country is very real. It needs to be dealt with. I hear about it every day,” Jeffries concluded. “People are drowning in this failed economy and are demanding action. We have a responsibility to deal with the fact that life is too expensive. Far too many people are stressed the ‘F’ out when it is time to go to the grocery store, pay the rent, or put gas in the tank. That’s crazy. That should not be happening in the United States of America, and we have a responsibility to address it, and that’s what we intend to do.”
