James Talarico is presenting himself to Texas voters as a Christian and a pastor.
It’s how he’s trying to appear like a normal guy.
But what James Talarico said about Jesus will leave you red with rage.
Talarico Claims Jesus is the Same as Allah
Polls show Talarico is holding a small lead over Republican Ken Paxton.
Winning the Texas Senate seat is pivotal to Democrats’ chances of flipping the Senate.
To win the four GOP-held seats necessary to reclaim the majority, Democrats don’t want their candidates coming across like woke evangelists.
That’s why they went with Talarico in Texas.
Democrats figured a white guy pastor would be harder to expose as a socialist.
The problem is Talarico’s own words.
Christians believe accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior is the key to salvation and that the Bible is the word of God.
In a newly resurfaced video, Talarico rejects the idea that the belief in Christ is the pathway to the truth and says Islam is equal to Christianity.
“I find that they’re all kind of equal pathways to truth. You know, that’s how I think, you know, I always think of all of the world’s faith traditions as like a circle with,” Talarico stated, “That divine mystery of the universe in the middle. And we all have different names for that mystery.”
Talarico then claimed there was no difference in what God someone believed in and that Jesus was no different than Allah.
“Whether it’s God or Yahweh or Allah or Nirvana, the Great Spirit, whatever you call it, this is all, you know, different pathways to the same kind of fundamental truth of reality,” Talarico added.
Talarico’s Past Anti-Christian Comments
Talarico is no stranger to slandering the Christian faith.
In a New Yorker profile, Talarico falsely claimed Christianity is the most “violent” religion and ignored Islam’s connection to terrorism, a statement that stuck out as America reached the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
“Seth and I talk about how Judaism is Season 1 of the show, Christianity is Season 2, and Islam is Season 3,” he told me. “I’m Season 2—the most violent season. My religion has done more damage to both of those religions than they’ve done to each other,” Talarico stated.
In a podcast interview with the Bulwark’s Tim Miller, Talarico absurdly claimed that God was “beyond gender.”
“I made it on the floor of the House when the extremists in the Texas legislature were trying to pick on kids who were different. And while it’s maybe provocative politically, I don’t think it’s controversial theologically. Most Christians believe that God is beyond gender. In fact, the Apostle Paul in his letter to the Galatians says that in Christ there is neither male nor female. So if you have a problem with what I said, don’t take it up with me, take it up with the Apostle Paul,” Talarico declared.
And Talarico also falsely claimed that the Bible was “silent” on abortion despite multiple lines of scripture discussing God’s relationship with the unborn.
“I don’t believe it’s a place for the state,” Talarico told Jamie Kern Lima. “And that’s a belief I hold not despite my faith, but because of my faith. Jesus never talks about abortion. The Bible is silent on abortion. And when that happens with a social issue as important as abortion, we Christians have to take scripture as a whole.”
President Trump’s MAGA Inc. Super PAC opened the floodgates of spending on negative ads against Talarico.
These comments will surely make their way to voters’ TV screens.
