Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett keeps making new enemies on the right.

Barrett’s latest performance created a new headache.

And Amy Coney Barrett made one demand that John Kennedy instantly shut down.

Barrett testified before a House Appropriations Subcommittee about the need for Congress to spend more money on security for the justices.

Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) appeared on Fox News and told host Griff Jenkins that America is $39 trillion in debt and couldn’t afford to boost spending on everyone’s wish list.

“Well, I’m sorry they feel insecure. They’re not the only ones. And if I sound unsympathetic, I don’t mean to, Griff. But look, I listened to part of their testimony — they want a 10% budget increase for security,” Kennedy stated. “They’re like everybody else up here; their favorite kind of spending is ‘more.’”

“There’s not a money fairy up here. This money that we appropriate comes out of people’s pockets, or we have to borrow it,” Kennedy added.

In her testimony, Barrett described the threats she faced after someone leaked the Supreme Court’s decision overturning Roe v. Wade.

“One example is when threats to my life were particularly intense a few years ago around the time of the Dobbs leak.

My security detail sent me home with a bulletproof vest, and I carried it into my house, put it into my bedroom, dropped it down on a table, turned around, and my 12-year-old son was standing in the doorway of my bedroom.

And he wanted to know what it was and why I had it. And I didn’t know how to respond, because maybe I lack imagination, but I didn’t expect that performing this service was going to put me in the position of explaining to my children what a bulletproof vest was and why they had to wear one,” Barrett stated.

This testimony created ever more anger at Barrett on the right, as, since the leak, Barrett began voting with the left with increasing frequency.

Many conservatives saw Barrett admitting the left bullied her into voting their way on key cases like overturning Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship.

Kennedy took a more pragmatic objection, pointing out that Supreme Court Justices already had security details that were second only to the President’s.

“They already have 24-hour security, and they travel with anywhere from four to eight cops at all times,” Kennedy continued. “So they’ve got better security than anybody else, except probably for the president.”
