Many Americans consider Clarence Thomas the greatest Supreme Court Justice in American history.

And now Clarence Thomas went nuclear on Democrats with one massive truth.

Clarence Thomas’ Political Journey

Clarence Thomas famously started out politically as a left-wing radical who supported the Black Panthers.

Thomas became a conservative after graduating from Yale Law School, and he realized leftist identity politics were harmful and the opposite of what America stood for.

In an interview with Texas Senator Ted Cruz, Cruz pushed Thomas on how, even when he was a liberal, he was still a fierce individualist, a mindset that later shaped his politics.

Thomas admitted he always hated being told what to do.

“Well, I don’t like being told what to do. I just think when you… The nuns made it clear that when God created us, it was mind, soul, and body. And you don’t just liberate the body. And that you were responsible. You committed a sin. It wasn’t because the devil didn’t make you do it. You did it. You gave in, you made the decision, and you were responsible. And you didn’t do your homework. You were responsible. Excuses didn’t count,” Thomas stated.

Since liberalism amounts to big government controlling every aspect of human life, Thomas said it was no wonder conservatism eventually drew him in.

“And my grandfather was that way. You were accountable. And that’s similarly when you made — it was my life. And I wasn’t… I’m not talking about being a libertine or anything like that. It’s more libertarian. That you believe in liberty, and that means you have to take responsibility for it,” Thomas added.

Clarence Thomas Calls Out the Left’s Stereotypes of Black Americans

Thomas told Cruz that what really stuck in his craw was the left’s imagined requirement that even black American support Democrats simply because they were black.

“And I really didn’t like people saying, you have to do this, you have to do that. We had this saying that the only two things I have to do is stay black and die. And that was a retort to people who had these requirements for us, these mandates for us, because of our skin color,” Thomas stated.

Thomas said he rejected the idea that being black required him to be a Democrat.

“Again, here’s your skin color. There’s this kind of deterministic view that you’re supposed to think this because we say so. And I, of course, declined that invitation. And so now that means it’s something that I’m walking contradiction because I’ve deviated from their perception of what I should think. Explain to me how that is different,” Thomas went on to say.

Thomas compared the left’s mindset on how liberals assumed blacks needed to be Democrats to segregation, telling Cruz the left’s insistence that he only support liberal ideas and that conservative views were off limits to him because of his race was no different than hanging a sign on a library saying he wasn’t allowed to enter because of his skin color.

“Then my question is, why is it then that you have a problem with me embracing certain ideas in certain books? What’s the difference? Of course, that’s unanswerable. In fact, I would prefer not to go in the building to not being able to embrace the ideas that I find that I agree with or that are important,” Thomas concluded.

Thomas’ rejection of the left’s identity politics paradigm explains why Democrats, beginning with Joe Biden and the Anita Hill accusations, and continuing today with calls to impeach Thomas, are hell-bent on destroying him.
