Control of Congress is at stake in the midterm election.
The future of President Trump’s agenda hangs in the balance.
And now Nancy Pelosi’s awful election sabotage plot just sent shockwaves everywhere.
Conservatives contend that every accusation Democrats hurl at President Trump is actually a confession of their own wrongdoing.
Trump supporters thought that was never more apparent than when Democrats like former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi grew more shrill in their opposition to voter ID.
President Trump has made passing the SAVE Act his number one legislative priority.
The SAVE Act requires proof of citizenship to register to vote, mandates voter ID, and bans mail-in balloting outside of excused absences.
Trump also signed an executive order instructing the U.S. Postal Service to create a list of verified U.S. citizens eligible to vote, and only these Americans can receive a mail-in ballot.
Democrats oppose all of these election security measures.
In an interview on MSNOW, Pelosi claimed it was actually Republicans who wanted to cheat in the midterm election and floated an unhinged conspiracy theory that Trump would hack voting machines to fake a GOP victory.
“There are so many things that you can do to protect the election, and they are being done, whether it’s litigation or legislation or just mobilization, communication, all of that. But in addition to that, we have to be on guard as to what they may try to do to the technology. They may try to creep into the technology and create a false count,” Pelosi ranted.
Other Democrats echoed Pelosi’s falsehoods about the SAVE Act.
Congressman Gregory Meeks (D_NY) told Bloomberg that requiring voter ID was akin to “Jim Crow 2.0.”
“The President is trying to [do] what I call as an African American, Jim Crow 2.0, preventing individuals from voting and putting up all kinds of obstacles for people, almost 30, 40% of the country, a lot of women will now have obstacles to voting, because if they’re using their husband’s name, they would not have their maiden names on their new identification, on their driver’s license, which is not going to be legal,” Meeks ranted.
Meeks claimed requiring an ID to vote represented an insurmountable hardship.
“Their birth certificate will not match their current name. People will not be able to afford to buy a passport, because you look at 30%, 40% of Americans don’t own passports now, and the time period that you can get one will probably make you ineligible to vote in this election,” Meeks stated.
President Trump said repeatedly that the only people who oppose voter ID are people who want to cheat in elections.
Democrats appear to be trying to dodge that accusation by turning it around on Republicans and counting on the media not to notice.
