Michigan Senate Democrat candidate Abdul El-Sayed made a bad decision.

It could cost Democrats the Senate.

And Jesse Watters humiliated Abdul El-Sayed by asking this simple question.

Jesse Watters Grills Abdul El-Sayed on Socialized Medicine

El-Sayed’s appearance on Jesse Watters’ Fox News show turned into a disaster when he couldn’t answer basic questions about his signature campaign proposal, a scheme to ban private health insurance and herd all Americans into government run healthcare.

The American Action Forum estimates that socialized medicine would cost $47.4 trillion over the next decade so Watters wanted to know how El-Sayed planned to fit a costly new socialist scheme in the federal budget,

“I don’t want you guys to blow the country up,” Watters began. “Do you know how much the federal budget is now?”

El-Sayed didn’t even pretend to act like he knew the answer to the question and tried to launch into an attack on Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.

“Pete Hegseth–” El-Sayed started to say before Watters cut him off.

“Abdul, answer the question,” Watters replied before repeating his question. “Do you know how much it is?”

El-Sayed Has No Idea How Much Money the Government Spends

El-Sayed ignored Watters’s question and began ranting about the Trump administration’s proposed $1.5 trillion military budget.

“I just want to talk about this. You wanna talk about budgets. I’m happy to do that. The guy who used to work on your channel, I think he was like the sixth host on The Five. He wanted to raise our military budget to $1.5 trillion, and you don’t seem to be upset about that. What? So we could fight we don’t know how to get out of, to raise our gas prices $5 a gallon? That doesn’t make sense to me, Jesse,” El-Sayed raged.

Watters saw the diversion and called El-Sayed out for his ignorance on basic facts about the federal budget.

“I have a feeling, Abdul, you don’t even know how much money the government spends every year,” Watters stated. “Do you know?”

El-Sayed conceded he had no clue how much money the government spent.

Watters informed El-Sayed that the socialized medicine scheme he proposed would account for 57 percent of all federal spending if it went into effect.

“It’s $7 trillion a year, and your plan to take over the healthcare system is $4 trillion,” Watters remarked.

Socialized medicine leads to poor care as hospitals ration services to try and keep costs down.

It would also require massive tax increases on middle class Americans to fund the program because the government would still need money for Medicare, Social Security, national defense, and interest on the national debt.

Conservatives also contend that El-Sayed’s pivot from the cost of socialized medicine to the cost of the defense budget also exposed that Democrats plan to gut the military if they win power to carve out room in the budget for a 100 percent government takeover of healthcare.
