Kamala Harris lost all seven swing states and still can’t take the hint.

Now her own husband reportedly wants her to sit 2028 out, and The View’s panel couldn’t agree on much of anything.

But one guest host blurted out an excuse Democrats will be repeating for years.

Doug Emhoff Wants His Wife to Skip the Next Race

The Wall Street Journal recently reported that former Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff has serious doubts about his wife taking another crack at the White House. The paper said Emhoff “has privately told some people he would prefer she didn’t run.”

That’s quite a thing for a husband to let slip.

People close to Emhoff told the Journal he would still stand behind her if she jumps in. And several Democrat donors have reportedly warned Harris that a third national campaign looks like a long shot.

Harris keeps playing coy. “I have not decided if I’m going to run again,” she told one crowd, before adding, “I do sincerely believe ‘28 won’t matter if we don’t get through ‘26.”

But her calendar tells a different story. The Journal reported that she has met with donors, hired staff, and stumped for Democrat candidates across the country. California Governor Gavin Newsom even promised CNN’s Jake Tapper he would get out of her way. “I wouldn’t run if she ran,” Newsom said. “I wouldn’t do that to her.”

So the ladies of The View decided to settle the matter themselves. It went about as well as you’d expect.

Ana Navarro Calls a 312-Vote Blowout “Close”

Sunny Hostin opened the segment by summing up the Journal’s reporting. “The Wall Street Journal reports Harris has taken steps that would enable her to run, and that her husband Doug [Emhoff] has privately said he doesn’t want her to,” Hostin said.

Ana Navarro, who says she counts Harris as a longtime friend, came out swinging. “If Kamala Harris wants to run, I sure as **** am not telling her she can’t or she shouldn’t,” Navarro said. “She is the highest ranking woman ever elected in U.S. history.”

Navarro then waved off the Journal story altogether. She told viewers she simply didn’t believe Emhoff opposes a run, pointing out that the couple married later in life as two established professionals. “If Kamala Harris says, ‘I’m going to run,’ Doug Emhoff will do everything in his power to help her get elected,” she said.

And then came the part that should make any political junkie spit out his coffee.

“She came **** close to winning in what was a very difficult campaign run in 107 days,” Navarro said.

Close? Donald Trump took 312 electoral votes to Harris’ 226. He swept every single battleground state. He won the national popular vote, something no Republican had done in twenty years. If that counts as close, Navarro might want to borrow somebody’s reading glasses.

Navarro didn’t stop there. She said she hears from plenty of women who feel “scarred from the fact that two very qualified women, Hillary and Kamala, lost against the most unqualified human being that has ever been in the Oval Office.”

That “unqualified” man had already served a full term as President when voters picked him over Harris. Americans knew exactly what they were getting. They liked it better than the alternative, and by a comfortable margin.

Raven-Symone Gives Away the Whole Game

Hostin then turned to substitute host Raven-Symone and posed the question that the entire segment had been circling. “Do you think a Black woman can be president in 2028?” Hostin asked.

“Not in America!” Raven-Symone shot back.

She followed up with a pair of statistics. “In the days after Joe Biden dropped out in 2024, online platforms saw a racist content directed at Kamala go up 525% and misogynistic content went up 2,328%,” she said.

Whatever the source of those figures, they don’t come close to explaining an Electoral College wipeout. Internet trolls don’t cast ballots in Maricopa County or Bucks County.

And the “Not in America” line runs headfirst into some inconvenient history. American voters elected Barack Obama twice, in 2008 and again in 2012, and he carried states like Ohio, Iowa, and Indiana along the way. Hillary Clinton won the national popular vote in 2016 by nearly 3 million votes.

That doesn’t sound like a country that slams the door on anybody because of skin color or sex.

But the racism excuse comes in handy for Democrats, because it lets them skip the hard part. Nobody on that couch wanted to talk about the open border, the grocery bills, or the gas prices that sank Harris in 2024. Blaming the voters takes a lot less work than rethinking the platform.

And here’s a fun bit of trivia the panel skipped. Harris ran for President once before, in 2019. She dropped out before a single vote was cast in Iowa. Were Democrat primary voters bigots, too?

Sara Haines Pitches a “Moderate” Dream Team

Sara Haines was the only one at the table willing to say the obvious. “If the Democrats want to win I don’t think she is the right candidate,” Haines said.

She pointed out that Harris would be landing on a national ballot for the third time, and that the party keeps begging for something new. “People are clamoring for fresh energy, and there is a lot of candidates, Pete Buttigieg, Mark Kelly, [Josh] Shapiro, Wes Moore. They’re moderate Democrats and I think they could sweep,” she said.

“And they’re men!” Raven-Symone quipped.

Haines conceded the point and then floated US Senator Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) as “a female I would vote for.” So even the reasonable voice on the panel ended up sorting candidates by sex within about thirty seconds.

But that “moderate” label deserves a closer look before anybody buys it. US Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ) voted for Joe Biden’s $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan and the so-called Inflation Reduction Act, the two spending bills that helped pour gasoline on the inflation fire. Slotkin voted for that same American Rescue Plan back when she served in the House.

Buttigieg spent his time as Transportation Secretary steering billions of taxpayer dollars toward charging stations for Bidenmobiles that most working families never asked for. And Maryland Governor Wes Moore signed a 2025 budget stuffed with new tax increases.

Calling that crowd moderate is a little like calling a hurricane a breezy afternoon. Democrats put the label on whenever a campaign season rolls around, then vote with the left wing the minute it counts.

Why the Identity Obsession Will Follow Democrats Into 2028

Strip away the shouting and notice what the whole segment boiled down to. Hostin asked whether a Black woman can win. Raven-Symone complained the alternatives were men. Haines hunted for a woman she could support.

Almost nobody mentioned a single policy.

That tells you plenty about where the Democrat Party sits after 2024. Voters handed them a clear rejection, and the people who speak for the party on national television still can’t bring themselves to ask whether the message was the problem.

Expect more of the same if Harris does jump in. Any criticism of her record will get tagged as racism or sexism before the ink dries. And if Democrat primary voters pass her over for one of Haines’ “fresh energy” picks, the excuse factory will simply retool and blame somebody else.

Doug Emhoff may turn out to be the sharpest political mind in the whole family. He seems to understand something The View still refuses to accept.

Voters already gave their answer on Kamala Harris. They didn’t stutter.
