Kentucky Senator Rand Paul has sights set on bigger ambitions than Congress.
Paul let a big cat out of the bag.
Rand Paul said 4 words that Donald Trump will hate to hear.
Paul was one of the Republicans Donald Trump crushed on the way to winning the 2016 Presidential Election.
In Trump’s second term, Paul is now an opponent of the Trump agenda.
It began when Paul refused to endorse Trump in 2024, even when Trump was running against Kamala Harris.
Paul then voted against the One Big Beautiful Bill, which slashed taxes and funded mass deportations.
And Paul also opposed Trump’s tariffs, which Trump argued were necessary to force new trade deals that benefited American workers.
Trump is no fan of Paul, calling him a “Nasty Little Guy” and “Sick Wacko.”
In an interview with CBS, Paul sounded open to running for President again.
“I don’t know yet, so maybe they know something I don’t know. We’re thinking about it, and I would say 50-50. We’ll decide the election,” Paul told correspondent Robert Costa.
Paul’s subsequent trip to New Hampshire, a key early primary state, made it clear that Paul intended to run in 2028.
Paul’s theory of the case is that he can unite libertarians and the pro-open-borders, pro-globalist-trade-deals business lobby to form a coalition.
That’s why Paul echoed the talking points of the mass migration champions who want to flood American colleges and universities with foreign students.
“The greatest resource is human ingenuity. It’s humans. Which is another reason why we ought to be open to people coming to our country,” Paul told an audience at Dartmouth University.
When asked about a potential 2028 bid, Paul again played coy, but hinted at his plan to run as a pro-immigration, pro-globalist trade Republican.
“We will see. I haven’t made a decision yet.“ Paul continued. ”I think New Hampshire has a libertarian bent and an independent spirit. And I think also within the Republican primary, there needs to be a voice for international trade, capitalism, free markets, and also that we can’t keep piling on so much debt. I think right now that voice is somewhat muted in the Republican side.”
Paul isn’t the only 2016 also-ran looking to make another White House run in 2028.
Texas Senator Ted Cruz is also positioning himself as the anti-Trump candidate to oppose Vice President J.D. Vance.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Cruz gave the same non-committal answer that every Presidential contender gives to signal that they are absolutely 100% running for President.
“There will be plenty of time to make those decisions. I don’t have an announcement for you today,” Cruz said in response to an inquiry about his Presidential ambitions.
Cruz, like Paul, sided with the globalists who oppose Trump’s tariffs.
And like Paul, Cruz also favors mass legal immigration into America.
American cities have been completely conquered by foreigners who blast the Muslim call to prayer throughout the city all day, thanks to legal immigration.

Cruz also waged a months-long smear campaign, sliming Tucker Carlson as an antisemite as a proxy attack on Vance, who is Carlson’s good friend.
J.D. Vance is likely running for President in 2028 as the heir to the MAGA movement.
But Vance is also likely to face multiple Republican rivals looking to end the America First conservative dominance of the Republican Party.
