The SAVE Act is President Trump’s signature legislation to guarantee fair elections.

But Trump got some bad news.

And that’s because Trump got blindsided by this nefarious plot to derail the SAVE Act.

Establishment Republicans led by Senate Majority Leader John Thune pressured President Trump to endorse RINO Senator John Cornyn as he heads to a runoff against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

Cornyn and his swamp allies spent $100 million in a primary against $5 million for Paxton, only to see Cornyn win 42 percent of the vote and fall far short of the 50% necessary to avoid a runoff.

Conservatives despise Cornyn, who has been in office since 2002, for writing Joe Biden’s red flag gun confiscation bill.

Cornyn also told POLITICO that his goal in running for another term was to work with Democrats to pass a mass amnesty bill.

Trump told CNN’s Dana Bash that he intended to make an endorsement in the race but that he wanted to see the SAVE Act on his desk first.

“And on the Texas GOP Senate race, President Trump said he will make a “decision fairly shortly” but that he wants “to have the complete Save America Act (which includes trans issues now). “We have to have voter ID. We have to have proof of citizenship. We have to have no mail-in ballots except for the military, illness, disability, and travel,” Bash wrote on X about what Trump told her.

The SAVE Act would require voter ID in all 50 states, mandate proof of citizenship to register to vote, and ban mail-in-voting except for legitimate absenteeism such as overseas travel or military service.

The House passed the SAVE Act, but Democrats are blocking it in the Senate with the threat of a filibuster.

Paxton called Thune’s bluff and wrote on X that he would drop out of the runoff if Thune agreed to stage a talking filibuster, which means Republicans can pass the SAVE Act with a simple majority vote after each Democrat gives two speeches, to pass the SAVE Act.

“The Save America Act is the most important bill the U.S. Senate could ever pass, and I’m committed to helping President Trump get it done.

I would consider dropping out of this race if Senate Leadership agrees to lift the filibuster and passes the SAVE America Act. 

John Cornyn is a coward who has refused to support abolishing the filibuster to pass this bill. Now, Fake News reporters and the establishment are trying to destroy me with misinformation. 

The truth is clear: No one has been more loyal to Donald Trump than me—fighting the stolen 2020 election, being in Mar-a-Lago when he announced his 2024 campaign, and standing with him in NY in the face of lawfare. 

For the good of our country and for the good of passing President Trump’s agenda, I am determined to help him get this done,” Paxton wrote on X.

Thune showed his true colors in that he and his fellow RINO Senators like Cornyn’s true goal is obstructing the Trump agenda.

Punch Bowl News reported that Thune killed the idea of a talking filibuster, and with it any real chance of passing the SAVE Act, behind closed doors.

Thune declared publicly for the first time that there’s no way for Senate Republicans to maintain the procedural unity required to pass the SAVE America Act via a “talking filibuster.”
