President Trump is on the verge of the biggest decision of his Presidency.
But as zero hour approached, Trump received an unexpected message.
And a Fox News host delivered one chilling warning to Trump about this bad mistake.
Fox & Friends co-host Rachel Campos Duffy declared President Trump hadn’t made the case that war with Iran was necessary or in America’s interest.
What made Campos-Duffy’s comments notable is that she is the wife of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.
Campos-Duffy was one of the millions of Americans who first voted for Donald Trump in 2016 because Trump ran against the failed endless wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
President Trump amassed one-third of the U.S. Navy in the Middle East and is now threatening to wage the very regime change war in the Middle East he pledged to never involve America in.
Campos-Duffy said she was willing to accept the June strike on Iran’s nuclear facility, even though it made her uneasy, because it was a one-and-done operation.
“So, the president made a case for Operation Midnight Hammer, saying, “We’re going to do this operation, and then we’re not going to have to do anything else.” You remember, there was a lot of bragging about that,” Campos-Duffy began.
“I think most people, even those who were skeptical of that operation, going in and doing that at the end were like, ‘OK, I can deal with this because I don’t want a greater war.” I think that the president needs to make a better case as to why it is in America’s interest to potentially go into a kinetic war,” Campos-Duffy added.
At the time, Trump declared the strike “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear program.
Campos-Duffy went on to say that President Trump hasn’t given the American people sufficient reason to justify a regime change war in Iran, and that it’s in America’s interests.
“I don’t think the case has been made sufficiently for me. You read the New York Times. There are a lot of people who also feel that way. If you’re going to get us potentially into a war, you have to explain why it matters to u,” Campos-Duffy continued.
Trump’s red lines in negotiations are Iran’s ballistic missile program and support for terrorist proxies.
But those are threats to Israel, and Campos-Duffy argued President Trump needed to explain how this war would benefit Americans as opposed to Israel.
“Not to other countries, but to us,” Campos-Duffy concluded.
Campos-Duffy’s skepticism was notable because Fox & Friends is normally a friendly environment for President Trump.
But Campos-Duffy’s skepticism is broadly shared.
A recent Quinnipiac poll found 70 percent of Americans oppose military strikes on Iran, with just 18 percent in favor.
