First Lady Melania Trump rarely enters the political fray.
But when Melania decides to act, it’s with force and achieves real results.
And Melania Trump just forced James Comer to make this bold move.
First Lady Melania Trump stunned Washington with an unexpected public statement calling on Congress to hold hearings on deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes.
The big bombshell from the First Lady’s remarks was the revelation that Epstein acted in concert with other co-conspirators despite the Justice Department claiming that no one else would face criminal charges for Epstein’s sex trafficking operations.
“Now is the time for Congress to act,” Melania Trump stated. “Epstein was not alone. Several prominent male executives resigned from their powerful positions after this matter became widely politicized. Of course, this doesn’t amount to guilt. But we still must work openly and transparently to uncover the truth.”
Melania Trump declared that Epstein’s victims deserve accountability and that it was time for Congress to step up to the plate.
“I call on Congress to provide the women who have been victimized by Epstein with a public hearing specifically centered around the survivors. Give these victims their opportunity to testify under oath in front of Congress with the power of sworn testimony. Every woman should have her day to tell her story in public if she wishes. And then her testimony should be permanently entered into the congressional record. Then and only then will we have the truth. Thank you,” Melania Trump added.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) spoke to Fox News Channel’s Sandra Smith, who questioned him about Melania Trump’s remarks.
“So will there be hearings?” Smith wondered.
Comer said the committee would act on Melania Trump’s wish and hold hearings where Epstein’s victims could tell their stories publicly for the first time.
“Yes, I’ve always planned on having hearings with the victims,” Comer replied.
“My attorneys on the Oversight Committee have been communicating constantly for months with the attorneys representing Epstein victims,” Comer added. “There are some victims who are willing to come in. Most victims aren’t, and I completely understand that. But we’ve always planned on having a hearing with Epstein victims once the depositions have been completed. So we have still got some more high-profile men that are coming in. Then I agree with the first lady — We will have hearings.”
Comer also subpoenaed former Attorney General Pam Bondi to testify so she could answer for the Justice Department, claiming the Epstein client list did not exist, no one was facing charges, or the dubious assertion that Epstein killed himself.
